The large window of the upstairs (first-level) 31m2 room at the front of the house, shows a scenic view of the canals connecting old and modern Rotterdam; frequently cargo-vessels sail by.
The room offers a comfortable double bed of 180x200cm, with natural latex mattresses and two duvets. A nicely covered bedstead of 80x190cm is available for an extra adult or child. On request two more beds for either adults, children or a baby could be placed in the room (€ 15 / night extra per person ).
The room is styled after its particular location with a combination of antique and modern furniture: two tables with chairs, sofa and lazy chair, television, transistor-radio and a variety of lamps, a multi-purpose cupboard and hall-stand. Tea and coffee can be prepared in the room.
The room is white and modestly decorated with paintings, photographs and a rare sculpture of contemporary artists from around the world.

Interaction with Guests :
In general the host or a family member will be at home to receive guests, and be available to provide specific information on getting around Rotterdam and the Netherlands. Informal local tours are offered on foot, by bike, boat or car, showing the hidden treasures and interesting people of Rotterdam. On request we supply lunches or dinners for a very reasonable day price.
The neighborhood is in the center of Rotterdam's renowned mix of old and modern, urban and green, peaceful and working harbor neighborhoods. It breathes a peaceful but lively multicultural and multi-architectural atmosphere. Just a few steps away, historical Delfshaven offers the experience of Holland in the 17th-century; with old sailing-vessels in the canals and step-gabled houses at the quays. An authentic wind-mill “The
Distilleerketel”; grinds high quality grains and selling a wide variation of flours per kilogram on the spot.
Bustling shopping streets, including the well-known Nieuwebinnenweg, offer small shops and supermarkets, little bars and restaurants, including nice take-away food, of almost any nationality one can think of, just steps away.
From the house also leads a calm provincial bike-path along the waterfronts and pastures of Delft-land, to the heart of the beautiful old city of Delft, where the famous Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer pictured his masterpieces.
Rotterdam is, beside the numerous harbors, also known for its adventurous post-war, modern architecture. Leaving the house by walking to the left, an impressive collection of !architectural landmarks draws the quickly approaching sky-line of Rotterdam down town; located up and
under the river Meuse and connected by the modern, elegant Erasmus-bridge or so-called “The Swan”.
Within a 20 minutes walk or 15 by bike or tram, the Rochussenstreet leads from Historical Delfshaven (west) to down-town city center and Museum park. Same distance northwards to Central Station (trains, as to Shiphol-Airport, Amsterdam, and metro to Rotterdam/The Haque-Airport and the city of The Hague). Southwards from the doorstep it is a quarter of an hour walk to the wide river-side of the Meuse.
Just around the corner you'll find tram, metro and bus-stops in all directions. From Central Station, tram no. 4 to the south, direction Marconiplein, brings you to our place, stop at “Ruilstraat”, walk-up to the bridge, but just before, turn left.
At Central Station it is easy to rent bikes.
Dogs not allowed, as there's a cat in the house.

On top of a warm welcome and appreciated flexibility, Dineke provided us with a lovely room full of light and all the needed comfort (tea kettle, large eating table, sofa...). The view over the water is great and the house is close to the metro and tramway. I would highly recommend this place for a nice stay in Rotterdam!
We enjoied our stay at Dineke very much. Dineke is a very kind and helpfull person, and the room is very nice with a lot of space and furniture and with a fantastic vue over the kanal. The Metro is just near by.
Dineke was very friendly and we had a good time in rotterdam. The Room was perfect for us and the bathroom was clean. All in all a nice place to be
We had really a good time in Rotterdam! The room is very big and full of light thanks to the big windows, and the scenario of the river is so amazing! We had towels, the, coffee, tv, wifi, big tables to eat, the possibility to share the kitchen and all the tools inside..and Dineke is such a gentle woman, she also came with her car to take us from the station..the place is a bit far from the centre if you want to walk but there's a metro station near so there's no problem of moving.
Thanks for the room, at short notice!
Room was as advertised and amazing value!
All in walking distance of public transport. (Wich in Rotterdam it's very good!)
If you are looking for a bed for the night and that's all you need? This is the place.
Nicely-decorated, spacious and practical room with a great view in a pleasant neighbourhood. Totally silent at night. Great facilities if you are travelling with kids (low table and small chair, bath in the bathroom, space). Dinette was reliable and available. I would definitely recommend the place to friends!
